We pay a small fee, RM2.00 per person if not mistaken. Started to trek in around 1000hr and it was supposed to be a leisure relaxing walk to Lolo for us back in those days. Those days I mean at least some 15 years ago! The trail was quite clear, not much of a ascending type, mostly flat but enough to make me sweat. I could see some changes along the trail with a few huts and markings along the way telling us how far we have walked and how far more we will reached Lolo and even to the summit.<\/p>\n

We were trekking slowly, taking our own sweet time, snapping photos along the way, stopped at every huts\u00a0and about 20 minutes intervals.\u00a0 After about 2 1\/2 hours we reached the first water fall and stream. We spend about 15 minutes here taking pictures of the fall, the stream and the signboard.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Orang Asli\u2019 house is still there but looked vacant. We moved on to the campsite where we need to cross a stream before reaching. This was where we intended or planned to stop and have lunch before heading back. This campsite was occupied with other campers and the spots that were not occupied did not look tempting.<\/p>\n So we turned back for about 3 minutes or so to another much smaller campsite beside the stream. The time exactly 1300hr. This smaller campsite I think could accommodate three 4-men tents.We were not camping and only 10 of us, so it was big enough with lots of space for us. We spread out 2 ground sheets and began preparing for lunch. Chee Woo and his 2 teenage kids already packed their lunch, roti canai and started eating. The rest of us got to wait for William (our outdoor cook) to prepare instant noodles.<\/span><\/p>\n where we stopped for lunch – our picnic spot<\/p><\/div>\n busy whacking…<\/p><\/div>\n \u00a0Some of us boiled coffee. After 10 minutes or so, the first pot of noodles was ready and mind you, those maggi noodles tasted much better outdoors than at home. Just plain maggi soup with some sausages (brought by Remy), tasted well. Me and Ann had something extra as we packed nasi lemak with rendang chicken and beef. I think we had 3 rounds of maggi noodles and a few rounds of coffee too. So I will leave it to her dad (William) to look into this. Then Remy, Chee Woo, William and Sandra took a dip in the stream nearby. The water was cold and refreshing, but I was lazy to get wet.<\/span><\/p>\n It was near 1500hr where we felt some droplets with the sky getting dark. It was rainy season sort of, as it had rained almost every day before this. So it was time to pack up and trek out. Sharp 1500hr we moved out and the rain started to get heavy just after 5 minutes after we started the trek out. So it was raining heavier and heavier, heavy rain for the next hour. Everyone was soaking wet. I don\u2019t know about Lai Heng, Sandra and Chee Woo\u2019s 2 kids, but I knew the rest of us seemed to enjoy the rain though heavy. As for me, it\u2019s been quite a long time didn\u2019t soak in this condition. It was fun, cooling with the\u00a0quirking sound in my shoes as they got wet. As we were about to reached the entrance, the rain subsided, just nice for us to clean up. We reached the car park slightly after 1700hr, about 2 hours plus from where we left. After cleaning up, everyone waved each other and drove home, except Siew Ping and Stanley who were in my car went off to Suntex for dinner before heading home. Nothing to shout about but it was a good start for us to get back into the wilderness after laying off for so many years. We are not fit yet to go all the way up to Nuang summit even with only a \u2018daypack\u2019, not yet but we are heading there slowly, hopefully by next year we are able to do it. In the meantime, just need to get out there regularly, get used to it again\u2026 That\u2019s it! Hopefully it will not end here.<\/p>\n me & SAS<\/p><\/div>\n father & daughter<\/p><\/div>\n From what I could remember from those days, it would take us some 2 hours or so, slow walk to Lolo. That was those days, but in my head and mind sort of \u2018auto program\u2019 2 hours to reached Lolo\u2026 it took us 3 hours!<\/p>\n Below are some pictures of the wild plants I managed to capture. Don\u2019t ask what kinda species coz I have no idea.
