This is our first trip back to our hometown since MCO (March 2020). If not mistaken, our last trip back was somewhere November or December 2019 where we put up in Mimosa Hotel Bunga Raya. But this time round, we stayed in City Bay View Jalan Bendahara which is still considered walking distant to Bunga Raya, SFX Church (St Peter just next door to City Bay View), to those Red Stadthuys Buildings around the Clock Tower and Jonker Walk.
We arrived at City Bay View around 1615hr, checked-in then refreshed before walking down to Bunga Raya Pantai where we came across a “makan” shop with satay (pork & chicken)… we ordered 15 sticks pork & 15 sticks “ayam”, Ann had “mee hoon kau” soup. Drinks – we took barli ais, “leong suei” and cendul.

After this satay treat, we split and walked around Bunga Raya area… wanna look for CK Tang but no more there replaced by The Shore…
Later in the night met up with my cousin Poh Thong where he took us to Seri Muara Alai for some Malay seafood/ikan bakar stuffs… oooh sedap!!!

Then waited about 10 mins to 15 mins or 20… ???
and here they are…

The place was by a river and the river mouth or “muara” is quite nearby about a few hundred meters away which could be seen in one of the photos…
the surrounding areas…

After this Seri Muara Alai dinner, we proceed to a food court along Jalan Munshi Abdullah nearby AmBank. I’m not sure what the name is but I saw a sign at the entrance which says “Medan Selera Huang Du”… a lot of stalls inside and we ordered two plates of “orr chien” (fried oyster omelette) and a plate of wantan mee. I tell you, the wantan mee tasted like what I used to have during my childhood days here in Melaka, my favourite taste. I still can’t find this “taste” anywhere else in KL! The fried oyster omelette too taste as good, up to my expectations! Glad that my cousin brought us here…

Then the next day 08Mar2023 before meeting our cousin for porridge lunch, we drove to the famous “Cheng Hoon Teng” Temple in Jalan Tokong coz my sister wanted to check out some sea coconut bangles.

Our poridge lunch… within the parking area of the Melaka River Cruise ticket counter, the one near the “Jambatan Hang Jebat”. In Google – Spice Garden… Since it was near lunch time and was full of customers, and quite hot… I opted for dry wantan mee instead and the rest had porridge with some side dishes.

after the porridge lunch, our cousin took us for coffee at the Lodge10 – Jalan Lorong Pandan, Taman Purnama…

Me and Ann will be leaving after this but my sis, niece & father are staying back till the next day. But before leaving Melaka, we dropped off my sis & niece in Bandar Hilir as they wanna explore the areas there, the A Farmosa, St Paul Hill, those Stadthuys areas etc etc…

After that we took a drive showing my father around Ujong Pasir, our old house there, also the Portuguese Settlement/Square… then dropped him at the hotel (my cousin had arrange a dinner that evening for my father to meet up with some of his old friends…), before we drove back to KL…

till next time… and felt good to be home, MELAKA!
